Join a dog sledding adventure in a small group where our dogs and experienced mushers take you into the untouched nature of Kvaløya
Welcome to Kvaløya Husky, where you can experience the Arctic outdoor lifestyle together with our crew and 52 Alaskan Huskies. Our kennel is located in Straumsbukta, a scenic 45-minute drive from Tromsø city centre.
During your visit, you will explore our dog yard, meet our excited and friendly dogs, relax in our traditional lavvo, and join our huskies on an unforgettable dog sledding adventure.
On the tour, you will feel the power of a strong husky team as they take you through beautiful Arctic landscapes filled with forests, creeks, and towering mountains. This is the kind of quality time our dogs love - sharing the adventure with you. While sledding, keep your eyes open for wildlife such as reindeer, moose, foxes, snow grouse, eagles, and more.
Our dog yard is home to a mix of young and old, playful and calm, energetic and relaxed dogs. We are happy to introduce you to our pack and tell you about how we care for them through grooming, nutrition, love, and a strong focus on animal welfare.
Before the sledding begins, we prepare the teams and harness the dogs together. The tour runs at a calm and comfortable pace, making it suitable for both adults and children. If there is not enough snow, the experience is offered using our wheeled wagons.
Arctic-proof boots and winter clothing is provided by us, but we recommend you wear a base layer of wool and a wool jumper or a fleece. You must bring a warm hat, scarf and gloves.
It is not recommended to book our activity if you suffer from back pain, heart problems or if you are pregnant.

Pickup location: Radisson Blu Hotel (Tromsø city)
Departure time from Radisson Blu Hotel (OUTSIDE the entrance on Fredrik Langes gate side): 08:00 AM and 12.20 PM. Please make sure to arrive on time.
Departure time from Yggdrasiltunet: 08.25 AM and 12.45 PM. Please inform the staff at Yggdrasiltunet about your tour. The transport is not included in the cost.
Guests who are coming with own car: Please arrive at the kennel at 08.40 AM and 1.00 PM
Included: Guide that is an experienced musher, sled ride, transfer (45 minutes each way), warm clothes, winter boots, storytelling and hot drinks.
Clothing to bring: Warm clothes, gloves, hat and scarf

Age restriction: those younger than 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult
